We all probably know when Bjoern Hoehrmann (Developer at the W3C) recently announced that he will leave the World Wide Web Consortium, the outlook for the future of webstandards (that make sense) was grey. But thank god he will keep working with the CSS team, hopefully finalising CSS3 one day.

Stu Nicholls created a cute interactive animation based on CSS.

This is more a proof of concept than a proper CSS example because there is actually ‘emtpy’ markup that is styled. Nevertheless, Stu always comes out with remarkable CSS experiments; which is cool.

Im Laufe der letzten Oktober-Woche wird die Design-Showcase Seite CSS Beauty die CSS Shuffle Contest-Serie starten. Erster Preis des Einstieg-Wettbewerbs wird ein brandneuer iPod nano sein.

Ähnlich wie beim css Zen Garden soll eine Template HTML-Datei mit einem themenbezogenen CSS-Design gestaltet werden, nur dass alle Teilnehmer sich an dasselbe Thema halten müssen.
Jeden Monat wird dann jeweils ein zufälliges Thema als Ausgangspunkt für einen neuen Contest vorgestellt (Wahrscheinlich auch mit anderen Preisen).

Bis zum offiziellen Start des Contests sind Leser und Interessierte aufgerufen, Themenvorschläge einzusenden.

Meine derzeitigen Favoriten aus der Liste der Vorschläge:

• Pulp Fiction
• Fruit
• 1950’s
• Black & White

Viele der Themen sehen allerdings danach aus als hätten die Einsender bereits ein fertiges Konzept dafür in den Schubladen…mal sehen wie sich das entwickeln wird.

Also: An die Skizzenblöcke & Editoren — Hier gibt’s die Möglichkeit einen iPod nano abzustauben und sich in einer der grössten inspirativen CSS-Galerien zu verewigen.
