One might think that I loose interest in publishing frequent blog posts if you look at the archives of the last months. I’ve never been that absent-minded with blogging before and I also know that this attitude is a DON’T in the blogosphere.
To excuse myself I’d like to state that there is currently lots of work to do for projects I’m developing at freshlabs. The last months were really interesting for my colleague and me as self-employed designers. Our company requires more attention every day to satisfy the customers’ needs — Which is great, because the revenues also get more interesting.
Furthermore I started to write on my diploma thesis, which I hope to finish around August this year. It’s hard to keep pace with projects that parallel and that you want to manage with the best care and concentration. Sure enough, this journal is also one of those projects, hence this post.
These facts currently keep me from blogging new interesting stuff. It bothers me quite a bit because I also want to satisfy my ambition to release updates for all the WordPress stuff that I published in the past — last but not least because of all the great propositions that readers mentioned in their comments.
Accept my thanks for granting me a short send pause.
RT @dertimbo Sign of LifeThe german hosted blogging-service blogg.de accidentally deleted all comments from user weblogs last Friday. This worst case scenario occured when the administrators tried to fight down comment spam platform-wide. And due to corrupt backup files, all previously saved database dumps from mid-August to December 5th are useless. [#]
My 2 cents:
- Shouldn’t large user-content-driven sites have local test-environments?
- Shouldn’t important backups always be checksummed?
Of course this will never happen here, thanks to WordPress Database Backup.
RT @dertimbo Blogg.de Deletes 4 Months of CommentsToday my blog gets two years old (*hooray*)! Greetings to all readers, subscribers and web surfers that came here by chance: Thank you for reading my blog.
To mark this little occasion I’m supplementing three new desktop wallpapers in four different resolutions. Head over to the media section to check them out!
RT @dertimbo Happy 1st Anniversary freshlabsThe importance of the subtitle in weblogs is much greater than its semantic meaning though it comes after the main title. In most cases it efficiently marks in a few words what the author’s creativity is like and also indicates wheter (s)he is a geek or not.
Now I am looking for ultimate Blog subtitles to implement in my dynamic tagline.

RT @dertimbo Blog TaglinesI received the musical baton currently wandering around by visiting Stefko’s site.
The titles are linked to the specific album at amazon.de.
- Total volume of music files on my computer:
- 36,26 GB – about 21 days of music
- The last CD I bought:
- Jack Johnson – In Between Dreams
- Song playing right now:
- Patrice – “Done (Where Is Love To Be Found)”
- Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me:
- Five aren’t enough at all to list my favorites but here is a mix of my current rotation and classics that mean something to me.
- 5 People to whom I’m passing the baton
I can’t list any more people that didn’t already receive the baton. Therefore I’m doing it like Stefko and ‘stick the baton next to the comment-box’ . :) Who didn’t get one yet?
