Cool Plug in. Not the first of its kind, but I believe this is the first one to give you that much freedom in deciding what what Diggs to show.
Would you happen to have some example you give show us of a Digg feed with your plugin?

Of course I can give an example of how the output will look like. There’s now a section in the sidebar, showing my latest 4 dugg stories with full output (Subscription, Description, Date and Topic).
Jon: Great you like the comment section — I always try to keep everything here accessible and enjoyable for users. For the Live Comment Preview I’m using the LiveCommentPreview plugin (Now, who would’ve thought that?).

Amazing plugin!
I just set it up on my blog.
It’d be cool to have an option tab to change the plugin parameters on the fly. I for example, would like to track the most popular dugg stories on specific subject every week.

Is there a way to get the link to go directly to the story as opposed to just the digg page?
Also, I had some trouble trying to install it under wordpress-mu – turns out that the function-rss file is called rss.php in MU. I just replaced the rss.php file with the function-rss.php from a downloaded wordpress install and it works great. Just thought I’d mention it.
— Unfortunately not, because there is no XML-element in the digg feeds containing the original story link (e.g. see the source of this feed). Link resources only point to the specific digg story.
Does any one know how digg does those google ads so they are just one large one at the top?

Do you know how often the plugin check digg feed for update ?
Geoffrey: Caching is done by WordPress’ internal Magpie module. The default cache time is 12 hours but the plugin obviously updates the feed more often. It should update about every ten minutes.

Interestingly enough, I was attracted to this entry by the words ‘digg dugg.’ I don’t know who around here remembers the game dig dug on the old old old old machines? It was an awesome game – kind of like a PACMAN type of game, except you would dig your own holes through the ground to avoid the badies, grab diamonds and drop bags of gold over the baddies. What an excellent game! Reminds me, I should check to see if it’s available on the web anywhere. These days you get a lot of emulators that help you play these old games on the new PC’s.
