This new beta version of Skype supports public chats and Skypecasts. Users can participate or start moderated public phone conferences.
Go get the Skype 3.0 Beta for Windows.

Conspicious was the fact that Skype 3.0 Beta also installed a Firefox Extension. Could this be the necessary interface to my idea of the Skype Links Extension?

The 3.0 beta is available for WinXP/2k only. Since the Mac version just learned the video function, it may take some time until these new community functions are implemented in the OS X version of Skype.

Update: Now Skype 2.5 Beta is out for Mac.

Interfacecleanup is the best about it. All functions are way better to access…less rightclicks.
I am not sure yet about the “live” tab…Skypecasts sound interesting, but i didn’t yet find any cast with stuff that is really of any interest.
